more fishing and crafting this weekend

Co-worker had a cocktails and crafting party Saturday.  I decided on etching glass for my craft   Turned out too cute!

More fishing this weekend...

Afterwards drove around Lyons/Boulder area and saw the some of the devastation from the flooding we had last year...watching it on the news and then actually going to see the "results" of the flood is completely different.  Part of the area is where my boyfriend grew up.  Made me a little sick to my stomach.

which meant getting out the poles and doing a little fishing - no one around the lake caught anything, but that was okay - felt great just to be out in the sun!

st patrick's day hats

I belong to a site called wish upon a hero - you can wish for anything, and of course you can grant wishes... I just granted a wish for a family that wanted some st patrick's day hats.  I used my bear from 6th grade as my hat model ;)

space

Since moving into the townhome we've really had to downsize furniture wise, STUFF wise... in fact, I still need to get rid of more.  I haven't had a space to do any crafts - it's either at the coffee table which is too low or bringing in a tiny metal typing table from work that I was keeping on the balcony.  Never enough space.  The boyfriend has his office / gaming room but it would definitely be too cramped to be in there and I don't want to crowd the bedroom.  He rearranged his office so I know how have the closet to keep my crafts in (fabric, paints, canvas, etc).  Went to Ikea over the weekend - spent at least an hour there trying to figure out what we could do to give me a desk/work area.  The living room/dining area was the best idea but didn't want a regular table since we just eat at the coffee table, even when people are over.  Finally, decided on another red glossy bookshelf, left out the middle part and voila!   I have a space!  When I'm done working on a project it all goes back in the closet but even if it's left out for a few days it still looks pretty nice...

Funny, I love how at Ikea everyone is discussing which pieces to put together to fit in their homes... I definitely listen in on other people's conversations.

these are the newborn ones I did - also did some boy ones and made some adult chemo caps in the same style... adorable!

Was a good weekend - boyfriend was sick but he toughed it out and we still went to dinner and to a play for my birthday Saturday night.  Sunday I sewed most of the day and then treated myself to a massage - heaven!

Since Saturday was a snow day I stayed in all day and worked on bracelets... they are turning out fab.
